Australia is the country/continent "down-under". It is completely surrounded by water and - except for the coastal regions - a huge desert (Red Center). Main tourist attractions are the Great Barrier Reef (Cairns), the Great Ocean Road, Ayers Rock (Alice Springs), Sydney and all the magnificent wildlife (in particular birds and reptiles). Melbourne is very sport oriented and Tasmania is proud to have the "best air". Having a BBQ on the beach on Christmas day is normal in Australia, but quite special to most northern visitors.

Perth is the capital of Western Australia and really remote. Adelaide for example is 2800 kilometers (36 hours by bus). Perth has many beaches, but also tourist sites like the Needles and Rottnest Island.
