Rhine
The Rhine is a very busy water way that is used for transportation of raw materials from Rotterdam in The Netherlands, through Germany to Basel in Switzerland. Besides this traffic there is also a lot to see, with romantic castles and vineyards lined up near Koblenz.
The water level on the Rhine can vary, depending on melting snow in the Alps, rainy season and drought. Sometimes cruises are not possible according to the original itinerary.
