Japan is a very modern country with extremely polite and correct people. The country is located on the ring of fire and has "learned to live" with volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis. When eating out you should try Japanese sushi, "udon" noodles and (strong) sake rice wine. There is a lot to see between Hokkaido, Kyoto, Tokyo and Okinawa, in any season.

Sapporo, capital of the mountainous northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, is famous for its beer, skiing and annual snow festival featuring enormous ice sculptures.
Sapporo was also the host for the 1972 Winter Olympics.
