Jordan is a friendly, peaceful country in the Middle East. With close neighbours like Syria, Iraq/Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel that isn't always easy. Of course there is a lot of sand and many camels, but you can also find great diving sites (Aqaba), Nature (Wadi Arum) and ancient cities like the world famous Petra.

Petra is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Petra is called the "Rose City" for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system and the colour of the sandstone from which it is carved.

Petra is believed to have been settled as early as 7,000 BC. It has been named as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
