Below are our most visited cities, destinations and national parks in Germany.
Vienna (135)
Vienna is a beautiful place to visit and live in. World famous are not only the old buildings, but also the (classical) music festivals and operas, the Schönbrunn castle, Lippizaner horses and "Prater". A concert is a must!
Passau (119)
Passau is also known as the Dreiflüssestadt ("City of Three Rivers") because the Danube is joined there by the Inn from the south and the Ilz from the north. The city exists for more than 2000 years.
Budapest (106)
Budapest is the capital of Hungary and consists of two cities: Buda and Pest. Cited as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Budapest's extensive World Heritage Site includes the banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrássy Avenue, Heroes' Square and the Millennium Underground Railway, the second-oldest metro line in the world.
Regensburg (87)
Nuremberg (74)
Linz (71)
Linz is the third-largest city in Austria, located at the Danube river.
Munich (56)
München is the 3rd largest city of Germany and a highlight to any visit. It is great to have a beer here, during or outside the "Oktober fest". If you can get tickets, you may want to see Bayern Munich, one of the top clubs in Europe. The Black Forest is nearby for relaxing...
Salzburg (50)
Salzburg is settled in a very pleasant surrounding with greens and mountains and a river. The city is the birth place of Mozart and also famous for the 1959 musical "The Sound of Music". The city will remind you of both facts repeatedly, but in a nice manner. Enjoy your stay here!

ToursOnTheWeb is a travel comparision platform and does not accept any booking or payment from any traveller or participant. You can search, compare and share group tours, individual tours and river cruises conveniently online. Booking, changes and cancellation are handled directly by the tour operator.
The tour details page will show you a simple button that will take you straight to the correct tour page at the operator's web site where you can ask for more information, check current availability or make your booking.
ONLY the Terms and Conditions of the tour operator apply to your booking - unlike bookings through traditional or online travel agents who may add a whole lot of additional terms and conditions of their own, also regarding a deposit payment. There are no additional fees whatsoever when booking at ToursOnTheWeb.
Cancellation may be bound to fees, depending on when you cancel and the tour price. The tour operator will have incurred expenses that it may not be able to recover and now has to find someone else to travel in your place. Some operators allow you to re-schedule without a fine.
When is the best time to travel?
Most people travel in the high season, when the schools are closed and the temperatures are the highest. This may make sense for beach vacations with children. But remember that these periods (July and August in Europe + N-America, China & Japan) are by far the busiest. There will be crowds everywhere.
The hottest season has become even hotter and dryer in the past few years due to climate change, sometimes resulting in forest fires. Sometimes temperatures have become unbearable. In extreme cases attractions may close during the hottest times of the day.
Due to seasonal droughts and low water levels, some river cruises may not be able to go everywhere as planned. This may lead to cancellations and itinerary changes for example on the Rhine and Danube.
For the above reasons we highly recommend travelling in the shoulder season, just before or after the peak season. Fewer people travel, temperatures are still nice, accommodations are cheaper and there are no problems with heat or drought. This is the best time to travel!
