Paro (38)
In Paro werden die meisten Besucher das Königreich Bhutan betreten, da dort der internationale Flughafen liegt. Paro ist eine kleine Stadt mit wenigen Hotels und die wichtigste Touristenattraktion in Bhutan: das Tigernest-Kloster - eine leichte Wanderung.
Thimpu (38)
Die Hauptstadt von Bhutan (ca. 80'000 Einwohner) ist wie der Rest von Bhutan sehr entspannend. Hier befinden sich die wichtigsten Regierungsgebäude, die mit buddhistischen Klöstern geteilt werden. Sie können Einheimische antreffen, die den nationalen Sport des Bogenschießens (Bogen und langer Pfeil) ausüben. Es gibt einige wirklich schöne Hotels, wie das Heritage Hotel und das Taj - aber nicht billig.
