Poland is a large, modern country in Eastern Europe. Most people are catholic and many churches and cathedrals can be found throughout the country. Former legendary Pope John Paul II was from Krakow. Gdansk is a major harbour and boat repair city in Poland. In recent history Gdansk was known for the Polish revolt that initiated the break up of the the Warsaw Pact and the USSR.
