Luang Prabang est une ville agréable au bord du Mékong, avec des bâtiments de style traditionnel du Laos (patrimoine de l'Unesco). Il existe des liaisons par bateau en amont vers Chiang Mai, en Thaïlande.

Vientiane

Vientiane (36)

Vientiane est la capitale du Laos, la ville la plus peuplée et l'emplacement du gouvernement, du président et de certains temples. C'est TRÈS relaxant ici, certainement pour une capitale. Pas d'embouteillages ni de files d'attente nulle part.

Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng (32)

Vang Vieng était autrefois la ville où de nombreux occidentaux (en particulier les jeunes) venaient faire la fête, mais après quelques accidents mortels, les "mauvaises" fêtes ne sont plus. Il y a encore beaucoup de restaurants et de magasins touristiques... La rivière est toujours très invitante pour faire du canoë et il est agréable de louer un scooter et de découvrir la région. Quelque chose de spécial ici est la montgolfière.
