La Paz (44)
La Paz ("De Vrede") is op een hoogte van 4071 meter de hoogste hoofdstad ter wereld. Als je vanuit een laag land hierheen vliegt, zul je je eerst moeten aanpassen. La Paz is de thuisbasis van veel inheemse volkeren waarvan de mannen lang haar hebben en de vrouwen grote, ronde rokken en een hoed dragen. Interessant zijn ook de markten die lama-foetussen aanbieden voor religieuze ceremonies.
