Tikal (13)
Tikal is beroemd vanwege de ruïnes van een oude Maya-stad, gevonden in een regenwoud in Noord-Guatemala. Het is een van de grootste archeologische vindplaatsen en stedelijke centra van de precolumbiaanse Maya-beschaving.
Antigua Guatemala (12)
Oud Guatemala is een leuke, koloniale stad te midden van verschillende actieve en inactieve vulkanen. Verschillende toeristen vestigden zich hier en openden winkeltjes en restaurants. Sterk aanbevolen. Als je graag Spaans leert, is dit zeker een van de betere opties met een grote verscheidenheid aan scholen. Een maand lang 4-6 uur per dag met overnachting bij een lokale familie en je bent klaar om Latijns-Amerika te ontdekken.
Lake Atitlan (9)
Lake Atitlán is een meer in de hooglanden van Guatemala van het Sierra Madre-gebergte, met twee vulkanen en het diepste meer van Midden-Amerika. Panajachel is de gezellige stad waar de meeste toeristen zullen verblijven en winkelen.

Chichicastenango is vooral bekend om zijn kleurrijke markt, waar lokale verkopers in typisch traditionele Guatemalteekse kleding van alles verkopen.
