"Trekking" en "Mountaineering" zijn de buzz words met focus op de Pokhara- en Everest-regio's. Maar er is meer, zoals het middeleeuwse Kathmandu, prachtige natuur, neushoorns en winkelen. Helaas is Nepal ook een van de armste landen ter wereld en verlaten veel Nepalezen hun thuis op zoek naar werk in het buitenland. En soms wordt het land getroffen door grote aardbevingen.
IndiaIndia en China zijn de dichtstbevolkte landen ter wereld. India wordt "een continent op zich" genoemd, ook al maakt het deel uit van Azië. Het is heel kleurrijk met veel tradities, festiviteiten, sport (erg Brits), dans, film en muziek (Bollywood!). Indiase keuken en koken met curry's, chapati's, groenten, chili's, enz. is wereldberoemd en heerlijk. De financiële rijkdom is niet gelijkmatig verdeeld: een klein percentage van de mensen is extreem rijk, een middenklasse met een goede opleiding is vergelijkbaar met westerse maatstaven en de meerderheid is nog steeds zeer, zeer arm.

Kathmandu (45)
Kathmandu, hoofdstad van Nepal en een erg drukke plaats. Mensen hebben kinderen en komen allemaal naar de hoofdstad om een beter leven te hebben. Kathmandu is het startpunt voor al het bergbeklimmen in de Himalaya en het is hier goed winkelen voor iets warms, met een merknaam, zonder echt het merk te zijn ... De echte hoogtepunten zijn de oude delen van de stad (plein) plus Patan , de grote Buddhinath Stupa en de brandende ghat.
Chitwan National Park (28)
Chitwan National Park heeft dieren in het wild zoals neushoorn (en tijger). Je ziet de dieren op de rug van een olifant, om veilig en droog te zijn.
Pokhara (22)
Pokhara is het startpunt voor trektochten in de westelijke Himalaya. Het was klein, maar is aanzienlijk gegroeid. Sommige rijkere Nepalezen hebben zich hier gevestigd. Een ochtend kanovaren op het meer kan echt mooi zijn, als het weer en uitzicht op de bergen Annapurna en Machu Puchare het toelaten.

Lumbini is the Birthplace of the Lord Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama. He was born in 623 B.C. in the famous gardens of Lumbini, which soon became a place of pilgrimage.
