Tegenwoordig is het een vrij land met mooie landschappen en stranden, interessant eten, zeer vriendelijke mensen, een goede, sterke economie en veel herinneringen aan het verleden.
Ho Chi Minh CityHo Chi Minh-stad is waarschijnlijk beter bekend als "Saigon". Het is de 2de grootste stad in Vietnam, maar niet erg toeristisch. De enkele sites houden vooral verband met de oorlog in Vietnam met de VS, bijvoorbeeld het oorlogsmuseum en de diepe, smalle gaten / kanalen, waar de Vietcong zich verstopten en vochten.
