South Korea
South-Korea is not on everyone's tourist map or list of priorities, but it's modern cities Seoul and Busan as well as Jeju-Island, K-Pop and Gangnam Style have definitely put the peninsula on the world map. You can also visit the DMZ at the border with North-Korea and pray that North & South will one day be united and friends again.

Japan
Japan is a very modern country with extremely polite and correct people. The country is located on the ring of fire and has "learned to live" with volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis. When eating out you should try Japanese sushi, "udon" noodles and (strong) sake rice wine. There is a lot to see between Hokkaido, Kyoto, Tokyo and Okinawa, in any season.
