There isn't a lot of wildlife on either North- or South Island of New Zealand and this mainly because it is a new and remote country, risen from the sea. You will find a lot of space, nature in all varieties, plenty of sheep and the local Kea bird (a small parrot). In the far south you may even find a few penguin species and the mighty Albatross. When you come here, you like to be away from it all and you don't mind a little chill, a bit of wind or some rain. Locals call themselves Kiwis, like the bird and the fruit.

Christchurch is the largest city on South Island. The city was hit hard by two earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 (magnitude 7.1 and 6.3) that killed 185 people. The damage is still very visible in the city center where real ruins and abandoned buildings are now neighbouring brand new offices and restaurants.

Sydney is one of the great cities in the world and this mainly thanks to the beautiful natural harbor. It is also the most populated city in Australia with a lot of immigrants who brought their own culture to down-under.
