Tanzania and Kenya are the main destinations for great wildlife safaris in Eastern Africa. Both countries share the Serengeti Plains that features the Great Migration of wild animals and hosts the Masai people. Tanzania has the surplus of the (extinct) Ngorongoro crater, the highest mountain in Africa (Kilimanjaro) and Zanzibar for colourful spices and markets.

The Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain of Africa. Thanks to its location close to the equator, the 5895m high giant is not covered completely with snow. On the contrary. Many people take the approx. 5 day trek to climb to the white Kibo peak and enjoy the view over the Serengeti.

The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the main national parks in Kenya (and Africa) with a lot of wildlife. It borders the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
