Summary

This fabulous journey takes us across some of the most spectacular parts of South America, criss-crossing the Andes and the Altiplano, through the lands of the Incas and their immense monuments, such as those around Cuzco and Machu Picchu. It goes from the steaming tropical cloud forests of Colombia's Caribbean coast, through to the immensity of the Amazon. It traverses the dry plains and dune fields of the Peru and Atacama Deserts and it takes us into the vast swamplands of Brazil's Pantanal.

It allows our travellers to get to the grass roots of the peoples who populate this region, be they the Quechuan Indian of the Andes or the Gauchos of Northern Argentina, who will teach us the to ride the magnificent Argentine horses across the cordillera. There is the wildlife too, jaguars, toucans, vicuna and of course the Cayman and piranha. Finally it allows us to explore some of the continents great cities, such as Cartagena, Quito, Lima, Buenos Aires and the fabulous Rio de Janeiro.
