Summary Journey from the tribes, mountains, forests and plains of East Africa to the wildlife parks and deserts of the south. Go in search of the Big Five as you visit some of the continents finest national parks including Etosha, Chobe, Samburu and Etosha.
You will truly get off the beaten track as you overland between Ethiopia and Kenya, enjoying a homestay with the Samburu people of northern Kenya. Further along the way you’ll meet mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda and elephants, lions, cheetahs and more in Tanzania and Kenya and again in Botswana and in Namibia. However, it's the raw experience of walking safaris to find white rhino in Zimbabwe and canoeing down Zambian rivers in the Lower Zambezi region that get you right up close to Africa's flora and fauna.
With a mixture of wildlife, hiking and other activities this trip will keep you enthralled as you work your way through the itinerary. Leaving lots of time to explore at your own pace we’ll get you away from the tourist trail and genuinely off the beaten track.

However at stages we will travel through rarely-visited areas which means that creature comforts can be sparse. Be prepared to mix comfort with adventure on this varied journey!

Important! - Depending on the trip, activities may include treks of 3-4 hours at altitude or across hilly terrain, multi-day treks at sea level, horseback riding, canoeing and other adventurous activities. A moderate level of fitness is required.
- This is a fairly challenging trip; you may well be travelling at high altitudes, across deserts or through cold and windy or hot and steamy areas. The terrain and roads may be rough and the facilities can be very basic or non existent. There may be some long drive days followed by wild camps, and physically and mentally it can be tough, but there will be some rest days and time to relax as well.
