Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world (after Russia), but only counts 40 million people... Most of these people live just north of the US-border. The big three cities (Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver) plus the other major cities have close to 75% of the total population. In other words: the country is empty outside the major cities!
