How to book a tour?

ToursOnTheWeb does not accept any booking or payment from any traveller or participant. You can search, compare and share group tours, individual tours and river cruises conveniently online.

The tour details page will show you a simple button that will take you straight to the correct tour page at the operator's web site where you can ask for more information, check current availability or make your booking. Direct communication with trusted tour operators provides even more booking confidence.

How to change or cancel a booking?

Please contact the tour operator directly for your bookings, changes or cancellations. ONLY the Terms and Conditions of the tour operator apply to your booking - unlike bookings through traditional or online travel agents who may add a whole lot of additional terms and conditions of their own.

Your cancellation may be bound to fees, depending on the tour duration, when you cancel and how much you have paid. The tour operator will have incurred expenses that it may not be able to recover and now has to find someone else to travel in your place. Some operators allow you to re-schedule without a fine.

We always recommend obtaining a travel insurance that covers cancellations and medical expenses.

Who are these tour operators? Can I trust them?

We have validated all listed local and international tour operators. Many of them are leading, renowned travel organisations that have been in the business for 20, 30, 50 or more years.

We checked reviews by travellers and only work with partners where experiences have been mainly positive. We included a link to reviews on the operator details page.

All tour operators are member of one or more booking guarantee funds, what should guarantee your payment in the highly unlikely case that the tour operator closes business. We list memberships and associations per operator.

When is the best time to travel?

Most people travel in the high season, when the schools are closed and the temperatures are the highest. This may make sense for beach vacations with children. But remember that these periods (July and August in Europe + N-America) are by far the busiest. There will be crowds everywhere.

The hottest season has become even hotter and dryer in the past few years due to climate change, sometimes resulting in forest fires and low water levels for rivers. River cruises may not be able to go everywhere. Sometimes temperatures have become unbearable.

For the above reasons we highly recommend to travel in the shoulder season, just before or after the high season. Temperatures are still nice, accommodations are cheaper, with fewer people around and no problems with heat or drought. This is the best time to travel!
