Finland is a large, modern country in Northern Europe. The spoken language is completely different from it's other Scandinavian neighbours with only Estonian and Hungarian being similar. There are very few cities, lots of trees and lakes and empty space. Helsinki is the official capital, but in winter Rovaniemi in the North is far more important for most tourists - with Sami, Reindeer, Northern Lights and Santa Claus. "Green"-Land used to be ice and snow only, but has indeed become a bit greener, due to global warming. Still there is an incredible amount of ice to be found here. Local populations live in a few small villages and some still try to live the old-fashion way with Greenland dogs, seals and whales.
