Finland is a large, modern country in Northern Europe. The spoken language is completely different from it's other Scandinavian neighbours with only Estonian and Hungarian being similar. The northern lights (aurora borealis) and southern lights (aurora australis) are natural, magical fenomena caused by solar winds in the earths magnetosphere that occur year-round but are only visible when it is dark and the skies are clear, without clouds. The best time of year to see these green waves is winter. The best place is rural, outside any city, large or small, either close to the Arctic or the Antarctic. No guarantees.
