Athens is the capital of Greece. The city center is dominated by the Acropolis, temple ruins from the 5th century.

Santorini is probably the most famous island in the southern Aegean Sea and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera. It is very picturesque and very well-visited by tourists.

Mykonos is also called The island of the Winds. This may explain the presence of windmills. It is also a busy party island.

Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It collapsed due to an earthquake and was never re-built. The Medieval Old Town of the City of Rhodes has been declared a World Heritage Site.

The Meteora is a rock formation in central Greece hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries. Kalambaka is the city.
