Indian kitchen & cooking with curries, chapatis, vegies, chilis, etc is world-famous and delicious. Financial wealth is not spread evenly: a small percentage of the people is extremely rich, a middle class with good education is comparable to western standards and the majority is still very, very poor.
KochiKochi (Cochin) is the largest city in Kerala, one of the more modern, most educated states in India. Tourist will like it that most women still wear sarees and punjabis, not jeans. Kathakali dance is interesting, but very very very slow.
