Small Group tours are organised group tours with a smaller bus (max. 20 people?). You will travel between destinations together with others. The tour guide is onboard to give background information about places you visit and make this a very pleasant journey for all participants. Luang Prabang is a pleasant city at the Mekong river, with traditional Laos-style buildings ( Unesco-heritage). There are boat connections up-stream to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Vientiane is Laos´ capital, the most populated city and the location of the government, president and some temples. It is VERY relaxing here, certainly for a capital city. No traffic jams or line-ups anywhere.
Vang Vieng used to be the city where many Westerners (in particularly youth) came to party, but after a few deadly accidents the "bad" parties are no more. There are still lots of restaurants and tourist stores... The river is still very inviting for canoeing and it is nice to rent a scooter and discover the area. Something special here is ballooning.
