Myanmar (also known as Burma), is still a bit back in time. The long military ruling paused it from developing further. Lots of naturla resources and 50 million people will make this country flourish. Tourists will want to visit for example the beautiful, one-of-a-kind Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Inle Lake, the 2500+ Pagodas in old Pagan and the Golden Rock.
LaosLaos is a very relaxed country. Vientiane, the capital, has very few air planes at the airport and probably never any traffic jams. Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang are the places where most tourists end up. Be aware of the strange drinks here, with snakes and scorpions.
Unfortunately the military has taken control of Myanmar again with a violent coup early 2021. Myanmar remains a very interesting country, but it may not be the safest at this moment.
