Vietnam is a country with a long coastline and lots to see and do. Capital is Hanoi, after the reunification of North and South in 1975. For a very long time The North was part of China - and communist. Other countries like France left their footprint as well. Nowadays it is a free country with great landscapes and beaches, rice fields, hill tribes, interesting food, very friendly people, a good economy and many reminders of its past.
SapaSapa is a quiet but touristy place in the mountains. Interesting tribe villages and rice fields around. You can get there by train from Hanoi. Note the weekly Bachma market not too far from Sapa where locals still wear their traditional dresses.
