One of the main natural attractions of Africa can be found here, at the border with Zimbabwe and Namibia's Pan Handle: the mighty Victoria Falls. The Lower Zambezi National Park lies on the north bank of the Zambezi River in southeastern Zambia, opposite Zimbabwe's park with the same name. Before becoming a national park, the area was the private game reserve of Zambia's president. For this reason it was never very touristy and remains one of the few pristine wilderness areas left in Africa.
