ToursOnTheWeb works with professional, established Tour and Cruise operators. This includes for example Classic Bus Tours, Bicycle Tours, Overland Expeditions, Adventures, Safaris and River Cruises. To list your products and services on our Platform you should fulfil most of the following basic criteria.
- You are a corporate entity that is officially registered in your country. Your company is at least 5 or more years old. You are a member of one or more national travel organisations and/or booking guarantee funds. Sorry, we do not work with individuals who once in a while do something.
- You have a head-office with at least 10 full time employees and are always contactable by email and phone during regular office hours. This customer service is not just for us, but also for our/your travellers/participants.
- You have a professional web site where you list your services. All Group Tours will have a fix price that includes all taxes and mandatory supplements and surcharges (like 1-person bedroom if applicable). If you offer customizable Individual Tours with flexible date, you will list your estimate price based for example on season, quality of accommodation and group size. We should be able to link to your tours and therefore these tours need a unique web address (URL).
- You will be listing YOUR services on our Platform. You are conducting those tours yourself under your name with your staff, whereas YOU set the itinerary and define the departure dates and price. YOU deal with customers, change requests and cancellations. For these listings you are not a travel agent who sells someone else’s tours.
- You and we have the same goal regarding customer satisfaction... We are looking forward to excellent tour reviews and therefore need the BEST operators. Too many bad reviews over a longer period of time may lead to de-activating your account. Complaints - if any - should be handled professionally. This will guarantee happy and recurring customers to our website and your tours. Your services will appear alongside your peers where everyone is aiming to be the best.
We need your data like tour itineraries, departure dates and prices listed on our platform. There are a few ways to achieve this.
- Ideally you have a complete API / web service (data-feed in JSON or XML-format) with all tour information and can provide us access to this data (with authentication if needed). We have already implemented many interfaces with tour operators.
- We can crawl your website to collect your tours. This means that we will read and interprete your HTML output in the best possible manner. This is more work for us and less reliable than an API. The crawl process only works as long as the website does not change. Note that our crawler should be accepted at your website and not blocked.
- Some affiliate marketing networks provide a data-feed with basic, but fully insufficient tour data. Maps, day-to-day programs, remarks, dates and detailed prices are usually missing. We may need to obtain additional information by crawling your website.
- Last but not least you can enter your tours manually. We can give you access to our admin panel. This is certainly not ideal, because it is significantly more work for the tour operator and data may also get obsolete without regular maintenance.
- A combination of the above.
